About Us
Moonlight Dreams is a non-profit making organisation. We want to encourage healthier, more active young people in our community through greater participation in non-competitive sport. We achieve this by creating opportunities to participate in circus skills workshops.
We stage circus-skills workshops, addressing adverse issues concerning physical and mental well-being. We aim to overcome barriers to participation in physical and collaborative activity that exist in conventional sports through their competitiveness and inaccessibility for those challenged by adverse issues such as obesity or autism spectrum disorder. It promotes inclusiveness, collaboration and sense of worth, building blocks to healthier populations.
The displays by our experienced instructors introduce people to the engaging way they can participate. We teach basic skills, under close supervision, prioritising safety.
Juggling provides an effective cardiovascular workout as well as improving concentration and physical coordination. General skills such as correct posture and basic cardiovascular exercises are taught. People are encouraged to progress at their own pace, working together to support learning. The programme is be selected to ensure no activities pose any danger; risk assessments are conducted before workshops.
